Green Rooftops

Green Rooftops

Did you know that France just passed a new law requiring any new construction buildings in commercial areas to have a partially green rooftop? That means that these building are now required to have either solar panels or plants cover at least half their roof! Green roofs are designed to help reduce heating and cooling costs as well as provide additional space for birds to nest.  In addition to increasing the ascetic appeal for the city and provide additional water management for the city they are contributing to reducing pollution.

Let me know what you think on these Green Roofs... should this be something for the US to consider? maybe Minneapolis to consider as construction increases around the city!Image title
