If you are thinking of purchasing a home in the near future consider hiring a buyers agent to help you through the process. It can be a bumpy road if you do not have a professional to guide you along the way.
There are a few myths out there regarding buyers agents and what they do so let me outline what they do for you!
They are area and neighborhood experts. If you are looking in certain areas find and agent that can help get you where you want to be. They have resources beyond MLS and Zillow to get you your new home. When looking for an agent to help you along the way interview a couple and choose the agent that best fits your criteria. You want someone who is available, knowledgeable and eager to help you! Ask then a few questions about their expertise, availability and years in the business.
Buyers agents work for you! That's right we are hear to help you navigate the search, offer, and negotiation process but, ultimately we work for you. Obviously we won't be doing anything illegal but, we are advisers and will work hard for you to get you your new home. Buyers agents can give you access to homes that may not be listed online or available to the general public. We are a large network of agents that know when properties are coming and going from the market before they reach your search engines.
Buyers agents are free to use! That's right we are free to you! When you hire an agent and go under contract with them they receive their compensation from the sellers of your future home. So all the hard work and looking doesn't cost you a penny.
When you work with a great agent you also get the benefits of their referral networks. So in the event that the inspection brings up something unexpected we have the resources to get a qualified processional in to asses the situation. Great inspectors, plumbers, electricians, roofers, and so many more! There are some great benefits to getting a great agent.
So as you start your process interview some agents and fins out who might be a good fit for you!
