When you are getting your home ready to sell it is important to remember that a well staged home sells faster! Now, I am not talking about spending a fortune to turn your home inside out I am talking about simple things you can do to get your home sold fast!
First and foremost is getting your home clean. Deep cleaning your home can make a huge difference in how buyers view it. A clean home is very important to a potential buyer because it shows responsibility and care. It shows that you have invested time and energy into selling and that you are serious! Home owners who do not clean their homes prior to showings and open houses do not seem as motivated to sell and who wants to see someone else's grime?
Organize and de-clutter your home. Get all the extra junk out and store it somewhere else. When buyers come through your home they want to actually see it! Too much furniture and clutter distracts buyers away from the home and onto your stuff. Same goes for laundry rooms, storage rooms, and under the stairs. Buyers want to see all of the home and are frustrated when they can't see into a room because it is stuffed with stuff!
After you have de- cluttered and cleaned your home give it a freshen! Start with bathroom mats, kitchen rugs and hand towels. Fresh rugs are fluffy and don't smell and are affordable. Clean your furniture and throw pillows. Get a neutral scent that isn't too strong to give your furniture a fresher smell.
Then de-personalize your home. if your gallery wall up the stairs or over the couch is full of family photos replace then with a nice piece of art or decor. Buyers want to be able to pretend for a moment that this could be theirs. It can be hard to do that when the family is staring down at you when you are walking though the living room!
These are some fast and cheep ways to put your best foot forward when listing your home. Staging doesn't have to be expensive and difficult. Start with what you have and go from there!

A home is not a home because of its room dimensions or the color of the walls. It is about how you feel when you walk through the front door, and the way you can instantly envision your life unfolding there.
